HailongPDF ("the App") is a local-first PDF toolkit. Keeping your documents on your device is the default behaviour, not an option you have to switch on.
This policy explains what information the App processes, why, and how you stay in control.
Reading, editing, encryption and decryption, on-device OCR, on-device conversion, on-device translation and summarisation all run entirely on your device. By default the App does not upload your document content to any server.
You can turn on "Fully offline mode" in Settings. Once enabled, the App makes no network requests at all, including config fetches and model downloads.
The App includes a small set of features that inherently require a server, such as high-fidelity PDF to Office conversion, heavy OCR, cloud translation, document Q&A, cross-device sync and collaboration. These are off by default.
Only after you explicitly enable them will the App upload the file necessary for a task you submit. Uploaded files are used solely to complete that task and are deleted once it finishes. They are not retained, not used for training, and not shared with any third party.
You can turn cloud features off at any time. The related entries then disappear from the interface entirely.
To deliver feature-flag configuration to your device, the App sends the server an anonymous device identifier and the requested configuration version. This identifier contains no account, phone number, contacts, location or document content. It is used only to distinguish devices so the correct configuration can be delivered.
All permissions are requested on demand. Declining one does not affect unrelated features.
The App is built from open-source components. It contains no third-party advertising SDK, no third-party analytics SDK, and performs no user profiling. The full list of components and licences is available on the "About" page inside the App.
You can delete any local document and cached data inside the App. Cloud task records store only task status and file hashes, never file content. To delete cloud task records, contact us using the details below.
The App is a general-purpose utility. It is not designed specifically for minors and does not knowingly collect personal information from minors.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of the App means you accept the updated policy.
